I've been seeing a lot of basses, amps and cabinets listed all over, for prices that are in my view, insanely inflated. Yeah, it's rare, and collectible. So? $35,000 is still a pretty good chunk o change. You could easily buy a pretty nice car for that. I remember not so long ago, a used Rick was like 1000 bucks. Now, recent ones are near 2K and vintage ones are $3500-4K. B-15's that used to sit unwanted for years in the back of music stores are now $2k. People selling pickups and hardware for new prices- like, really? We used to be able to find pretty good deals online.. not so much anymore. I think people have gone mad.

It's funny you say that. I've always used the car analogy when trying to justify the price of an instrument. All I've ever really wanted out of a car is 4 wheels and an engine to get me from point A to point B, but car is infinitely more complex and necessary.
I will say this: despite outrageous asking prices we're seeing, I am not seeing a ton of movement on instruments lately. It feels like people are taking a step back from buying.
