Warmoth Jazzmaster IV Bass

Post by Matt R. »

Finally got all the details completed on this bass. Went through 2 (!!!) warranty replacements on the neck, but it's pretty badass now, in my opinion. Very happy with it.

Specs:
Alder body in Olympic White Poly.
Celluloid Tort guard.
Brushed Metal lefty Jaguar control plates from Faction Guitars.
Quartersawn roasted maple J Bass neck w/ rosewood board & matching headstock.
Neck is thin taper with graphite rods.
Hipshot Kickass Bridge.
Hipshot Ultralite Lollipop tuners.
Fralin Pickups w/ 5% overwind.
Control layout is like most stack knob Jazz basses.

Tasty!

It may be an optical illusion, but it appears as if the neck pickup is closer to the neck than on a regular Jazz Bass? Or are my eyes fooling me, and is it just that the bridge pickup is in the 70s position?

That is seriously badass. I like that you went with the vintagey cream colored DiMarzio PUP cover look too.

Thanks guys. It really kicks ass. That dummy control plate on the bass side really gave it a facelift. I can’t believe I was able to trim the pickguard perfectly on the first try. I thought for sure I’d ruin it and have to order another
