New Empress Compressors, Including One For Bass!

Post by rdavidson »

I love, love, love my (I guess I now call it) "original" Empress Compressor. (https://empresseffects.com/products/compressor) I don't want a compressor to color my sound at all, and the Empress just beautifully does what I need it to do to fit into the pocket without messing with my tone. It's an "always on" pedal with one of my bands (when we did play pre Covid).

Of course I know nothing about how these sound, but it's exciting to see two new compressors from Empress -- one with some features tailored for guitar, the other for bass, including a high pass filter on a fully adjustable pot!!! That's awesome and does make it tempting!!!

I have no intent of picking up either of these because as I said, I still love my original and it's built like a tank (knock on wood), but I thought I'd post this here for other's awareness.

Those new ones are sleek!

I've been happy with my Photon Death Ray. It's easy to set up, does what I want it to, and sounds great.
