New Amp reviews anybody ???

Post by gravesbass »

Has anybody purchased any new amps that are out on the market and want to share results of tone, etc?? I just ordered the new Markbass LittleMarkTube. I will leave a review if I decide to not cancel before it ships.

I'm about to receive a Thunderfunk, rounding out my "reference library" to

'67 Ampeg B15N flip top
SWR SuperRedhead 210T
Eden WT800
Thunderfunk

I'll eventually be springing for a GK800RB as well, but these out to cover most of the territory needed when a client visits and wants to check a bass out thru a specific reference configuration

Once I've had the TF out on a couple gigs I'll drop a tip report (but don't hold yer breath ... I usually run the house reference amp when I play out)

all the best,

R

When I get some time off from everything else I have to do :? I'll do a piece about my amps. I have several PJB units, topped off with a Suitcase + Cab rig. 300w but sounds bigger! Haven't seen them mentioned much on forums, which is a bit odd since they're US made. Would've thought someone would have one. I know Markcv used to have a Flightcase but sent it back: now looking for a 6-Pack I believe. (Did I get that right Mark?) Apart from that though I don't remember seeing anything much written about them here.

Also have a '90's Polytone MiniBrute IV that I haven't used for a while. May be up for sale in due course (but bear in mind that I live in the UK).

Will do some pics when I get my hands on a camera that actually takes decent pictures - current one is a real POS. :x

Run a Pbass with flats through it, and you'll sound like James Jamerson. They can be killer amps. Won't hold up in a band situation if you have a heavy handed dummer tho.
