Nice!

I've been looking at Darkglass too lately. I'd love to get one of their B3K or B7K overdrive pedals. They're insane, and versatile too. But man, are they expensive!

I had to choose between the Duality and the Amptweaker TighBass fuzz. I went with the Amptweaker 'cause I felt it had more versatility and more options. However, it was a real close decision and the Duality lost by only a hair. tonally, they both cover a lot of the same ground.

Oh ... nice bass .... wonder where he got it from?????

I owned the Duality, excitedly ordering it as soon as it came out based on some great sounding demos. It did not work for me at all. It can give some cool tones when driven by another pedal but on it's own it it was just an indistinct, fizzy mess. Unless you set it as low as you can get it, then it's just lessened returns for an expensive pedal that you likely bought to blow doors off, not dial as mildly as possible. It's behaviour is dictated by the rest of your signal chain so it responds well to certain basses and other effects and crappy to others. To me it is not a pedal that sounds cool in any set up. YMMV.

IMO there's a lot of fuzz pedals out there that eat it for breakfast for a lower price tag. the Malekko Diabolik does the gated fuzz thing far cooler to my ears, and the Depth Charge and TAFM blow it away too.

Gonna update this zombie thread to say that I'll eat some crow about the Duality. While I still prefer the Diabolik, TAFM and Depth Charge for more general fuzz tones, I do now like the Duality quite a lot too. I think I was trying to apply it to the wrong tones in the past. I recently got another and I'm really digging it now. But now also not trying to have it emulate the afore mentioned fuzzes and enjoying it for it's more velcro fuzz tones as an alternative to smoother, less grainy toned fuzzes. Spending time with a Wooly Mammoth certainly helped me appreciate the Duality more. I got it to help me cop some pseudo Failure type fuzz tones and for that it's working great.
