And six years later...

Since this photo was taken last month, the Joyo Tremolo has been swapped out with an Acid Fuzz Repeater for the Spacemen 3-style stuff.

Do you remember the clip I posted a few weeks ago? You commented on how much you liked the tone of the bass. That's the Jangle Box and no other effects. Pretty typical of this band's music:

Mutation time.

Dumped the Boss SYB, could not get anything useful out of it (I had high expectations for this one).
Replaced it with a TC Electronic Alter Ego V2, this has some very nice vintage style delays.
Also replaced the Boss looper with a TC Electronic Ditto. I'm going to use this Boss looper stand alone now and not as a part of the board. This replacement was mainly due to the smaller footprint of the Ditto, there is nothing wrong with the Boss but now everything fits better on the board.
Added a TC Electronic SpectraComp, it sounds different from the Boss compressor.

Cheeky way to add the previous picture again. ;)

Latest board version.
Recent adds, a EarthQuaker Devices Night Wire and a Electro Harmonics Canyon.
Image
Gone is the Mooer envelope.

The Night Wire is brilliant, so much more than just a tremolo! The Canyon has some very useful functions the other two delays and reverb don't have.

There have been some changes in-between the previous post and this one I did not post here.

And again a new pedal, Mooer Slow Engine, nice effect. Also did some changes to the layout, following the curve of the board extensions has grown while filling them, they could also be filled in more practical way ;) .

Do you have to practice changing effects mid song? There isn't a lot of room for choreography on that board - I would be teetering all over the place on one leg trying to hit the switches with the other.

Only for the small pedals it's a bit tight, the big ones are positioned in a way that there are two rows of switches next to each other and are easy to switch.

That is quite a setup, nice!
How's the Sub n Up?
I definitely need to add some EQD to my board!
My most recent addition is a TAFM. I need to spend some more time with it before it gets to my main board.

The Sub'n'Up is a very nice effect pedal, depending on the settings it can range from very close to a real 8 string up to a more old style octaver.

DIY'd something again, a Wierd object.
Image

It's a replacement for the 'round the corner' extensions. Despite the low cost of these extensions they are not really that practical or pleasing to the eye so in the end I decided to fabricate something myself.
Image

Attached, filled and ready for use.
Image
Also added a couple of new mini pedals, a TC electronic mini Corona, 2nd chorus for over the top use, also very handy due to the use of Toneprints. The Mooer Bass Sweeper is back again and added a Mooer @wah.

Man, you guys have some sweet-looking boards!

Mine is a little more modest ...

Switch caps
No new pedals or changes in the chain order.
Image
These caps make switching a lot easier without unwillingly changing the settings knobs of the effect.

How small can they make a pedal? Those Mooer's and TC electronic's are already small but HoTone can do them with an even smaller footprint.

Some changes in the layout and a few new things on the board.

Added a few new pedals (Luxe, Green Russian and a RAT clone), removed one (Ditto), also did some changes to the order.
Image

Made a secondary board and reinstated a few old pedals.
Image
I just couldn't get to grips with the one switch control of the TC ditto. Do I need to stamp it once, twice, hold? This makes me think while recording... and there goes another attempt at making a decent loop down the drain. :)
That's why I bought a extra switching pedal for my Boss looper, blablas can cope better with more switches. Also placed my old Harley Benton compressor in front of the looper, this gives me the illusion of having just a little bit more control over the quality of the sound I want to loop.

The two boards in one picture.

Moved around a few pedals to get a visually more pleasing board.... Better for my OCPD ;), and it resides in my living room so it must look as nice as possible as well!

My ever changing board.
Removed a few pedals, added a few new ones and moved a few pedals around and slightly changed the order.
Image
Gone: Spectracomp (barely used it), Black Teeth (RAT clone) and Bass Sweeper (also barely used).
New: Golden Halo and Alpha-Omicron.

The Darkglass Alpha-Omicron is in a league of its own, whatever setting I try it sounds great! I think I'll be busy for quiet a while searching for my favourite settings.
