Sad news as they have offered great basses over the years and they where very lefty friendly.
Too many speculations out there but nothin official but people out there are assuming Fender is a good candidate to buy them off.

The tariffs had very little impact on what caused the business to stop. I’m no fan of the tariffs, or Trump and his policies or what they've done to the economy. But that's not why this happened. Period. Sales for standard production have been awful all year. The only consistent orders we had were in custom shop, where I still had a few months worth to complete when this all went boobies up. The company was hemorrhaging before the tariffs were even implemented. There's also a pending lawsuit from 2 former employees that's made it so no one that can act as an investor wants to touch the business with a 10 foot pole. That's not tariff related either.
The tariffs didn't push it over the edge. The last time we received an import shipment, the tariffs were paused. The most recent import shipment that was due to be impacted by them didn't even make it to the Long Beach port before we died.... this shutdown does not have to do with the tariffs for an incoming tribute shipment. That was speculation by Rhett Shull. While tariffs certainly didn't help our situation, there were many other reasons that company was driven into the ground that all started long before Trump.
