FBass 6 string fretless piccolo - 3000 Euros

The seller and owner of "Tout pour le bassist" in France is a good friend of mine. (He sold me my first bass a million years ago).
Let me know if you are interested.

Re: Lefty Epiphone Jack Casady for Pre-order?

Isn't this low-impedence pickup a big part of what this bass is?

It’s a feature... and a bug.

Kidding (kinda. I hate low output pickups).

Low impedance is not the same as Low Output, it only means it does not come out as a Hi Impedance signal like most passive instruments but with a signal ...

I haven't GASsed for a bass in years but here I must admit...Isn't this low-impedence pickup a big part of what this bass is?

Re: G&L L-1500 $700

Agree. I have never understood either. My explaination is that few prominent players are using G&L instruments. G&L should have pushed instrument endorsments from the get go.

Fender did not really need that but If you look at Musicman they had people like Louis Johnson, Tom Hamilton, Cliff Williams ...

Re: NY Members, Help Me Find In-person Lessons.

“a “little” out of my price range” was my diplomatic attempt at saying “quite expensive”.

Unfortunately, by the time that I get home at night, my wife is already asleep, so Skype lessons don’t work for me.

You know that with a $100, 2 channel computer interface, a cheap dynamic mic ($50+stand ...

Squier Classic Vibe Jazz and P for lefty

It just dawned on me that Squier is now making the Classic Vibe Jazz Bass and Precision for lefties. It is no longer Vintage Modified.
Those are really nice instruments.

It sounds a bit brighter with more punch when you play with both pickups on. Two iconic 70's jazz bass tones: Marcus Miller and Geddy Lee.

Squier CV 70's has now pickups in 70's config.

I just noticed that the new Squier 70's has now its pickups in the '70's config instead of the '60's config. I might get one again, just for that reason. I've always prefered that.

Re: Unicorn Sighting - Ovation Magnum Bass

It was exactly the same as this one besides the color. Most likely it had initially belonged to Gerald Johnson who was Steve Miller's left handed bassist.. There was another lefty for sale as part of this collection, a five string Modulus. Gravesbass must remember the Modulus I think he tried it ...

Re: Unicorn Sighting - Ovation Magnum Bass

I beg to differ, there is another one somewhere. I played it when it was for sale at Guitar Showcase San Jose. It was part of the huge sale of gear sold on behalf of Steve Miller. The one I tried was signed on the headstock by Steve Miller and strung right handed. It sounded incredible too strung ...

Re: EQ question

You are not the first one running into this problem. I hated the 3 band preamp of my Stingray but EB does not make the 2 band preamp in lefty config.
I am not sure it would be a good idea to disassemble an after market preamp such as a John East 2b but you may want to contact the preamp manufacturer ...

Re: Do you play acoustic guitar?

Geoff, I am not sure if you know but I moved to the Caribbean. Since I could not take all my guitars, I left a few of them behind in Tahoe. I am selling my Larrivee OM03R for dirt cheap ($500). In case your are interested and would want to drive to Northstar to get it. It is inexpensive because I ...

Most likely the ground wire got disconnected. It should be fixed in a minute by someone how knows how to solder.

Re: 5 string J-Bass

I don't recall ever seeing Japanese 5 string Fenders either. Unless you really NEED Fender on the logo, the Sire above mentioned will deliver the goods. I play a Warmoth 5 string Jazz Deluxe with an ash body. I like it so much that it is the only reason I play a 5 string.

Is it me or there this something odd with the laminated maple at the bottom of the bass. Like it has been sanded or repaired.

Re: Musicman Stingray white, rosewood 2001

So you have owned 2 white Stingrays then. I sometimes miss the Ice Queen. I have never owned a bass that was as easy to play and the look, once fitted with a black pickguard with amazing. Good luck with the sale.
