Re: Social media bassists

Personally I can’t stand that stuff. For them It’s about clicks & ad revenue, not music. I cringe every time I see scotts bass “lessons” clickbait bullshit. And there’s a whole crop of other influencer wannabes out there too obviously.

I tend to agree with you on this one. I'm generalizing here ...

Re: Mono Dual

I have the Mono dual bag and have been using it for years. I've even put my T-Bird and 8 string - with huge headstock - in it at the same time. It's a very slightly tight fit but it works safely. Definitely versatile enough for almost anything.

Ha... I have one. I love it. It's the bass I'm playing in my avatar. I've since repainted the body fiesta red, replaced the pickups with EMG PX in a cream colour and had a custom tortoise shell pickup surround made. This thing will sustain for daaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyysssssss ...

Black Korina PJ Bass Feeler - For Sale

Hey Y'all. This pains me to no end but... I just have too many basses and only play a couple regularly. The bass in this previous topic/post - http://www.leftybassist.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=10693 - is up for grabs if anyone is interested.

I know lots of you US guys don't like to ...

Re: Hot rod precision bass

Hey.... I actually have a really great Hot Rod style P bass that I made out of spare/Warmoth parts. The neck is an actual honest to goodness Fender Hot Rod P bass neck. Black korina body with tobacco burst. Looks amazing. Has Geezer Butler EMG (passive) pickups and Hipshot bridge and drop D tuner ...

Re: Vantage VP-795B 4 String Bass 1981

Ugh.... this one broke my heart. In the time it took for my wife to get back to me to say I had the green light to buy it... it sold. I've wanted one of these for years. I also had one - my first real bass when I was a kid. I never should have sold it.

Re: 8 string

Those Schecters ain't actually half bad. It might be a great way to at least test the waters before getting somethin more bespoke. There really isn't much else out there for us lefties besides the Dug Pinnick 12 string. (Also a Schecter.)

My one other suggestion - if you have a spare Fender body ...

Re: Mesa Boogie Goodness Heading My Way

I've had a D-800 head for ages. (No tube.) It's been absolutely amazing. My main amp is a Mesa Bass Prodigy (250w, all tube) which sadly, they don't make anymore. I use the D-800 as a spare/back up when touring, or for smaller gigs or rooms. I can definitely hear the difference between the tube amp ...

Re: Lefty Gibson Les Paul Jr in Canada C$1,950

This one irks me a bit. I totally get 'supply and demand' and all that. It's a real thing and does - and should - affect prices. But... this is excessive.

$1950 CAD is roughly $1425 USD. I'm pretty sure Southpaw Guitars - who have never been accused of 'underpricing' - still have a couple of these ...

How do you like the Carvin?

It's pretty great for what I need a 5 string for. Honestly, I only have occasion to play a 5'er a few times a year. It's got Bartonini J pickups that sound great. Every one of my 4 string basses - except for the Eko - has a Hipshot D-Tuner on it. I've gotten pretty ...

Warmoth Lefty Diamondback Body - In Stock Showcase

Please... someone buy this before I do. I need another bass project like I need a full back tattoo of the Jonas Brothers. I know if it sits there too long I'll be super tempted. This would look killer with just a clear finish. Roasted swamp ash top over walnut with great contours.

Nice re-fin on that Kramer! Always wanted one just because they look so cool! How does it play, and sound... and what is the weight? Not that I'd care about any of these questions - I just would want one!

It's truly unique in it's tone and sustain. It really growls through a good tube amp and the ...

Ha... thanks Matt. To be completely honest, it was a build you did awhile back with a Fiesta Red and tortoise shell combo that has had me jonesing for something like this. I can't remember if it was a Jag or a Jazz but the colours stuck with me. So... it's all your fault. Haha...
