FYI - Rondo Music

Post by fivebass52 »

Have you guys heard of RondoMusic? They carry a good selection of inexpensive left-hand basses and guitars. You've probably heard of the brands they carry; SX, Douglas, Brice. Inexpensive instruments, but the consensus is for the money they're well made, with usually swapping out the electronics making them sound competitive with other moderately priced basses and guitars

The website is: http://www.rondomusic.com ....
left-hand basses: http://www.rondomusic.com/BassLeft.html ...
left-hand guitars: http://www.rondomusic.com/electricguitar.html

They also sell acoustics, parts, cases, other instruments etc. I don't work for them, but they come up with some interesting bass designs, colors, and scale lengths. It's always fun to browse their website and bass selections.

Yes, I've seen their website too and there are a couple of instruments on there I'd love to try. But unfortunately, the shipping costs to the Netherlands would be almost equal to the prices of these instruments. There aren't many stores here who carry SX.

These instruments are very appealing to me:

buddy of mine has a nice Tele clone which does not intonates for sh!te. I've been after him to upgrade the hardware but he's tighter with a $$$ than I am. As mentioned, the wood, fit and finish, and bang for the buck can't be beat.

I signed up for their weekly emails, so I usually stop by the website at least once a week to look at all of the good-looking Fender Clones, etc. That's where I found the "Poor Man's Purple-Heart" bass I posted awhile back - http://www.leftybassist.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=944 - they do come out with some cool-looking guitars and basses.

I've been meaning to pick up the DJ Bag they sell for $25 - http://www.rondomusic.com/djb1800.html - it looks like it would make a great gig accessories bag...
