Didn't work for me. I had a birdseye maple neck on my '97 Stingray and the damn neck would bow up like a crossbow every other week and required constant tweaking. I think that bass was a lemon and turned me off wanting another EB bass for years, though I've also found the maple neck on my '80 Sabre to be more temperamental than any of the other rosewood EB basses I own too. Generally, though, I do prefer maple necks over rosewood, at least when going for a snappier tone as with a J, but I would love to find an old vintage rosewood neck P some day because there is a noticeable tonal difference, IMO.Jeroen wrote:Maple board is the only way to go for a Stingray if you ask me
