You be the judge, is this acceptable? how on earth was this ok'ed in qc?
My Talman has less flaws (almost none) than this bass and its a $250.00 guitar
this bass was close to a grand with shipping and import etc...IS this common with eastwood?

It's kind of difficult to see everything you're complaining about. Can you describe the problems?

At any rate, send it back. Tell Mike you're unhappy with the QC, and he will either exchange it or refund you. I did that with a Mandocaster he sent me.

paint gouge on headstock
indentation underneath chrome bridge cover
paint on fretboard at neck joint
pickguard cut with a butterknife
paint runs, chips, scars etc.
toggle switch loose
pickups loose(sound like shit constantly buzz w/treble up)
just overall disappointing-it actually looked like a B-stock when I opened it
dust debris stripped screws....

Let's hope they don't apply the modern Kafkaesque returns policy...
"It passed our QC and so left us in perfect condition. Any defects that may subsequently be found MUST therefore have occurred AFTER it left our premises and CANNOT in any way be due to faulty materials and/or manufacture and is outside the scope of our warranty..."

BTW, I think the pickguard was bitten, not cut.

Nah, Eastwood is usually good about returns/exchanges, as long as your returning it within a reasonable time frame. I will say, however, that I've found their QC to be spotty and inconsistent.
