Not a Roadstar but a Roadster :)
These are older, and more closely related to the Musician and Studio series than the Roadstar. I have one (an RS924, and also two MC924's and a righty ST924) and it rocks! Great 70s Precision tones, and a great slap tone too. The neck is huge and wide, and it weighs a ton!

Yeah you're right the name on the listing says Roadster, but I've also seen roadstars with the same neck. In fact I have a 1983 Roasdstar 2+2 neck I bought on Talkbass, that's why the mix up.

I bought this bass, from Jerome. Nice guy over the email.
As per today (tuesday) It's on its way to The Netherlands, I will inform you when I've set it up and played it. :)

Hopefully it will provide a different tone than my Sadowsky (both P/J).

And the funny thing is, I never really related to the idea of having more basses, but now, with all the string testing I've been doing, I'm starting to get the picture!

Sorry for the hi-jack, but please do elaborate! I've never really bothered to do so and mostly stuck to Elixirs ever since I started using them 10 years ago. But I do see the point in finding the perfect strings for each bass.

The Roadster headstock (below) is a 2 +2 as are some Roadstars (above)... easy to confuse until you see them side by side- the Roadster headstock is much larger in every dimension, and the overall neck profile is a chunkier affair (like comparing a Jazz neck to P bass neck).

I have one of these too, couple of minor mods (Barts and a BadAss). As Jeroen mentioned, absolutely killer sounding basses- but hefty... great studio bass because you'll want to be sitting down! Somebody noteworthy played one of these back in the day, but I can't recall who right now.

Since I had the neck but no body, I decided to give it a shot and ask the seller if he would ship the white Squier PJ body and he did, so I got it today and routed the neck pocket 5/8 lower and so far so good!

A 2+2 headstock looks weirdly unfamiliar on a true P body. :o
Not in a bad way just strange.
