New guy looking for P bass body

Post by Tedshouse1 »

Hi all, I've been looking around for a P bass body, (loaded or not). If someone could point me in the right direction and also explain the "wheeling and dealing" process here as I don't want to offend. I could do a modest amount of money or work out a trade, I have several Mexican jazz bass parts to negotiate with.

Thanks,
Frank

First of all Welcome, I do not have a PBody at this time, I would suggest under Board Index to look at "For Sale Amps, Effects, Parts and other" If a board member has one normally I use the PM and work with them either via the message board or email, cell directly to negotiate. If you come to an agreement in the past I have used Pay Pal, US Mail a check, some folks are only an hour or so drive away and I have met them directly. This is a good chance to socialize with other left bass players and normally you can see some of their other basses.

You did the right thing by placing a request perhaps someone has something laying around. Good Luck!

I have a black MIK body in decent shape I'd trade for a MIM jazz.

Well, I appreciate that. I would rather keep my jazz body and add a pbass body to the collection. PM me if you're interested in selling it.

Thanks,
Frank

What kind of quality are you after? I have a older Black Korean Squier P/J body I’d be willing to part with for not very much.

Pic. Unloaded, but with pickguard and Cu shielding. Finish is black with subtle metallic sparkle.

This thread has created magic for me and can be deleted. Thank you to NoXX for making my PNW life a little more sunny.

"PNW life?" Where do you live? I'm in Seattle. Always nice to know there are other fellow lefty bassists in the hood if PNW does in fact stand for, well, Pacific Northwest :-)

Glad to help create a bit of magic in the PNW. :ugeek:

Now we need to see what you’ve created ;)

Well, I’m sorry to say that I fell off the face of the planet right after this post. NOXX helped me out with a body, I went out and purchased a neck and some pickups for it and tried out my soldering skills. Nothing to brag about but I got sound. I realize that this is the wrong for him topic for this discussion but will let everybody know that I purchased a tide pool color players series PBassthis past Christmas and joy is The emotion I’ve been experiencing ever since.

BTW, I’m down in Olympia, close to 107. I’ll post more in the appropriate forum later.

Thank you
