Lola by the Kinks...

Post by fivebass52 »

Can't believe my band did this back in 2009 already! I had just gotten my ATK300L a couple of weeks before, and was inspired to play it at this concert at "Pipeline Cafe" a great venue in Honolulu that that saw bands like The Doors, War, Los Lobos, Fishbone etc., play there, but eventually closed down. Recently sold the ATK to a member here... the claim-to-fame was this particular ATK was a gift from Rob Zombie to his massage therapist, who was on tour with the band during the late '80's.... he kept Rob and the drummer limber enough to do their thing... cool story!

R&B Stretch Bass, Walter Woods 1000w Green-Light Stereo Amp, AccuGroove El Whappo and TR112, assorted axes, amps, cabs...

Very nice!

Back in the pre-interwebz days, the woman who would marry me 15 years later and I were on the same BBS. Her handle was "Lola" after this song.

Maybe I'll see if she wants to crack a bottle of champagne tonight for old time's sake...

I guess this camera didn't have image stabilization... :) Thanks for the fun comments guys! Now that I'm watching this - again - that was a great-looking bass, kinda wish I hadn't sold it now! Oh well..... but that's another song! :D
