What is the consensus on the Korean basses? How do they compare to American, Japanese and Méxicano?

I have a Korean P Bass neck on my Franken Fender. It's a good neck- very flat compared to my other basses. It is really a Squier, for what it's worth. The Squier logo was at the very top of the headstock and has been removed on the bass you mention - you can see a faint shadow if you look carefully. I've attached an example of what I mean...
This doesn't mean it's not worth checking out the bass by any means, but IMHO it's not in the same league as the US versions.

Based on serial #, it's a '93 and the original tuners should read 'Licensed by Schaller'.
...and it's a tad expensive for a Squier...
(I had one '92 sold a year ago for CAD 250:)
