1982 Wal Mk 1

Post by markcv »

At Andy Baxter Bass in London:

and on ebay:

Anyone with thoughts on value? Seems a bit high to me but I don't really know.

For a point of reference on pricing, I purchased a fretless 1982 Wal Mk 1, same model with a slightly lower serial number over three years ago off of EBay in the US. I paid less than half of the asking price of 3250 pounds sterling (not sure what the VAT/import duties & shipping would add to this bass). I watch the boards and ebay pretty closely for lefty basses and I don't remember seeing a lefty Wal offered for sale from this era since I purchased mine. The Wal data base identifies a fair number of Wals produced during this time with very few lefties. I am not sure of their market value but it appears that lefties are very rare.
