I was wondering the same thing myself. And memory is a little fuzzy right now, or maybe it's the camera lens filter, but I recall 80's Burgandy glo to be a lot darker, almost wine red.danomite64 wrote:What's up with that black stripe on the headstock?
I own a '79 Rick 4001. Definitely darker, more wine colored. That finish is most likely "Ruby". I've seen several Ruby or Red finish Ricks with black pickguards, but personally never seen a Burgundyglo with one.AzWhoFan wrote:I was wondering the same thing myself. They had a different name for that particular finish that's on the bass for sale, but I'll be damned if I can think of it.
Ahh, I see it now. I think you're right.markcv wrote:I could be wrong, but that black stripe might be something as simple as a piece of black electrical tape. Zoom in on the image and look at the ends of the stripe.
