i heard it is pretty good but what do you guys think?

Had one, didn't like it as much as I thought I would, sold it.

The model T is a much nicer instrument to my tastes. Better sounding pickups (Duncans vs. Schecter) I couldn't get the pickups on the Diamond P to resemble any sort of tone, they are plenty loud, but generally have no other character to them. The diamond P is also unbelievably heavy.

I agree with this assessment. The Diamond P is loud and heavy as all get out. I also thought the tone had no character. The Model T tone is a bit more P-Bass like, but not exactly since the P pickup is about an inch closer to the bridge than a regular P. I thought the Model T I played was heavy as well. The one thing that disappointed me about the Model T was that the neck had a very light satin finish, I like a bit of gloss on the back of my necks.

When you excessively overwind pickups to increase the output it always result in more bassy but bland and boring sounding instrument. Whether it is with the Schecter pickups or the Duncan quarter pounders used, the Schecter Model T and Diamond seem to have this overwound pickup characteristic. I was also interested in the Diamond 5 string but the reviews did not seem that good. You'd have to replace the pickups for sure. It's too bad because it would be a good lefty altenative to Fenders otherwise.

That's interesting, my Model T has a fairly glossy neck on it. I wonder if that's a more recent change?
Funny thing is, I'll be sanding off the gloss right away, I hate gloss.
The thing I really really like about the Model T is the placement of the P-pickup, it gives the E and A strings a really great sounding mid cut, great for punk or rock stuff.

I think the Diamond P with a new set of P pickups, and maybe different pickup entirely at the bridge would be better, that may be too much work for that kind of bass though.

I have been trying to decide between the diamond p or the schecter stiletto extreme? Which do you think would be better

It really depends on the type of music you play...I personally loved the Stiletto I tried once.

By the way, I have a Fender Am Std Precision split-coil pickup for sale $40 + ship if anyone is interested. That would be a much better pickup on Diamond P or Model T.

My Model T has a glossy neck and I love it.
