4 string bass with a low b

i am thinking of putting a low b on my ibanez 4 string bass. will i have to make any needed ajustments?

You mostly need to file the nut to adjust it for the bigger strings. Keep in mind that some Jazz pickups may lack the definition required to get a good B sound. You might have to slightly tighten the truss rod but no more than a quarter turn.

Action and intonation will require some attention too. Make sure the saddle of the E-string has some room for travel left (towards the bridge).

I have an old bass sitting around a ibanez eb3 from the 70's, had it defretted in the late 80's. Put some new flats on it a couple of months ago. Had major trouble with the neck , couldn't adjust the trust rod, so detuned to BEAD o boy it seems to work great throb though my 18 stack.
