The decal is not a '67 decal I believe. If it was a legit '67 I would pull my credit card and buy it now as it would be the deal of the year but I agree it totally looks like a late 70's P Bass. It looks like a poly finish and at that time I think all Fenders had still nitro finish. From the questions below it seems that it was initially listed as a '78 and someone said "your serial number is a 1967 number" then the seller changed the date to 1967.

Read this
Q: hello, is this a 1967 or 1978? you have conflicting dates in desc. and title... Apr-09-12
A: I just checked the Serial Number yesterday, and it is in fact a 1967, Manufactured at the Fullerton Plant. I thought I corrected it everywhere on the auction page but I supposed I missed something. I'll post this Q&A and proof-read the auction now. Thanks alot.
Q: Hi serial on a cbs bass is also on a sticker on the back of the pickguard. Apr-04-12
A: Great, Thanks! I'll be sure to post this. I still don't understand why the front serial has been anihilated though...

I kind of appreciate this "I suppose I am missing something" comment...

Yes! You are missing the correct serial number... which was unfortunately "anihilated"

I would not touch this one with a ten foot pole.

He had this bass listed about a month ago as a 76 P Bass. The headstock logo is a late 70's Fender logo. I think he may have "anihilated" the serial number on the logo. Kinda makes you wonder what else has been altered. Also, the pots are stamped 78...............
