No, I think it's a copy of some kind...

The neck heel, control cavity shape, pickguard screw location, truss rod route, and bottom horn shape are all different... the bottom horn shape seems to follow the traditional Emporer shape and not follow the direction they went with their NYC series.

that is not a Fodera body ... only some kind of copy

But it looks very similar to a body I bought from Vinnie a few years back and made that fretless from it. Except for the maple flame laminated top, it looks pretty much the same. Jean from Belgium bought afterwards.

definitely two completely different beasts

as for who made the eBay listed body - anybody's guess

Thanks gents, it's currently sitting at about $0.25 so if it doesn't get too crazy, might be worthwhile picking up to use for some future project frankenbass!!

Wish i read Japanese and that it shipped outside of japan, that body is exactly what i'm after.

I'll let you know if I get it as I only have a ¥5000 limit I can use on Yahoo. Maybe I could piece together a Fauxdera!!!
