I'd feel kind of strange buying a bass at Best Buy...but I guess a deal's a deal!

Just to let my fellow southpaws know... Best Buy pulled a classic "Bait and Switch" scam on me, just before Father's Day. I thought that shit was illegal!
They had an advertised two day sale on an HP laptop. Great deal. None online. I go to my local store here in Reno, none in stock...they're "out of stock" would like to have a refurbished HP at about the same price? I say, no, please locate one and have it shipped here. The sales girl looks in her computer, and there's NOT ONE on the West Coast. How does this sound to you guys? Yeah, it stinks, and the state attorney general should be notified...but like most everything else nowadays...they wouldn't do anything. So, I speak in protest by buying elsewhere. I avoid that store at all costs.

Reminds me of about 6 months ago, I decided I "needed" an ABG, and decided on a Fender BG-31, as it was medium-scale and all the full-scale ABGs I'd tried were HUGE. Every place online had them for $399 except Best Buy's site had it for $349. So I popped over to the nearby BB, found the BG-31, played it, it was SWEET, I looked at the tag...$399. I couldn't find anyone working in the Music Dept. so I walked over to their Computer Dept., used one of their computers on display to check their website, $349. It didn't say anything about "online/website only" price. Found the one guy who is looking after the Music Dept., told him what was going on, he went to their website, confirmed the $349 price and said..."Uh..OK, we'll match that price". It's YOUR price! You can't match your own price!! He looked at me like I was a complete moron, but rung it up at $349.

I think the moral of the story here is: don't buy a bass at a store that you can also buy DVDs, toasters, washing machines, and waterpiks at.

Well, I got the bass I wanted, at a better price than anyplace else I could find it at, I just had to endure the stupidity of the poseur behind the counter.

I was in the local Best Buy yesterday. Not 1 bass.
The local GC keeps 1 low end lefty in stock.
Have to stick with the internet, & luck in the small music stores.
