Hi Guys,

a couple of months ago, one of you had posted about adding a couple of letters in a youtube url that would take you to a site that gave you the option to rip the audio to an mp3, or download the video. I've forgotten what the letters are that gets added into the url after www. - whomever posted the original thread, can you let me know what the "secret" letters are again? Thanks!

Ian

I'm not sure if it's OK to 'advertise' ways of ripping streaming media on a public forum like this, but if it is:

I installed a little plugin in Firefox called Download Helper, that allows you to do just that. It recognises all streaming media and video's on a website and lets you select and download the one you want. It's free, and can be found in the plugin library in Firefox.

I use "Fastest Free YouTube Downloader" and it works without a hitch.

Thanks guys, I'll try your suggestions. What I was looking for though is an add-in to the actual youtube url. For example, if the youtube url is http://www.youtube.com/results(etc), there was a three-letter add-in that goes between www., and youtube. So it would look like this: http://www.---youtube.com/results(etc). It made it very simple, and gave you the options from various sources, without having to download add-ons, which I have used in the past.

When I find the three-letter combo, I'll let you guys know what it is...
