I'm looking for the following...
A stacked 250K reverse audio taper pot (Will be used as "Volume/Volume" pot)
A push pull 250K reverse audio taper pot (Will be used as a passive tone control that will push/pull to go active passive)
If anyone knows a source on either of these, that'd be sweet!
THANKS!!!

Re: On a hunt for a couple of reverse audio taper pots...
the only source I know of for a stacked reverse AT 250K pot is to have one custom made. anticipate to pay around $50
I haven't inquired about a p/p version, but the shop that custom makes my stacked pots might have the parts to do it. I believe this will be just as pricy as the stacked pot
you should also know that you're not limited to the same vallues on each half of a stacked pot. I recently spec'd a custom 250K/1M pot for a client who is utilizing a L-1000 style passive control on their custom build
all the best,
R

Re: On a hunt for a couple of reverse audio taper pots...
p.s. to the post above ...
I'd post my source here on this board, but they no longer officially offer this custom pot service. I see the need to eventually learn how to do this myself to be prepared for the day when this company decides to officially retire
all the best,

Re: On a hunt for a couple of reverse audio taper pots...
Thanks you guys!
The reason I'm asking is because I'm getting rid of the Aguilar OBP-3 preamp in my Mike Lull bass, and I was thinking about trying out a Nordy setup. I understand that there's a solid following for the OBP-3 preamp, and that's cool... but I find it to be mostly unusable.
I was looking at the Nordy 3B-4a preamp: 3 band bass preamp with volume/volume stack, tone (pull passive), mid (pull frequency switch), and treble/bass stack
I called and they don't have lefty pots, but they will wire it up how I like it if I provide the pots. So... I asked them what I would need and I began my search. Um, yeah... nothing.
There goes that idea... but... it was really a blessing in disguise.
SO... I spent some time (til very late last night) and really thought about everything and what I was really trying to accomplish and decided this:
1.) 98.3% of the time, I keep everything on all of my basses flat.
2.) I don't need mids... I don't use them. If and when I ever give a little boost, it's always bass and treble. Maybe on a fretless I would like to have some mids, but this is a fretted bass.
3.) I REALLY miss my passive tone control.
4.) I really miss Volume/Volume
So... I think the setup that I really need on this bass is:
Volume, Volume, Passive Tone, Bass/Treble Stack, Active/Passive Switch
I think that setup will be PERFECT for me... and I wouldn't need any crazy custom pots to do it.
I'd love to try a Sadowsky preamp, but I don't think they run 18v, and the Mike Lull already has a 2 battery box installed... not THAT big of a deal, but... I'm also wondering if I'd be happy with the "boost only" Sadowsky format.
Nordy also makes a setup very close to what I'm looking for, and I'm sure that Adrian at Nordstrand would be willing to wire it up for me like that, ready to drop in.
Does anyone here have any experience with Nordy preamps? I've read a few good things, but information and reviews are very hard to find.

Re: On a hunt for a couple of reverse audio taper pots...
Nordy pre's are all I use on my Regenerate builds, so I may be just a little biased
I use a Vol + Blend + Passive tone + Active bass/treble stack as my standard configuration
IIRC the stacked active tone control in the Nordy pre is a linear pot, so wiring it backwards is cool. I've done this on a couple lefty builds.
about all you really need is to locate a pair of reverse AT volume pots (super easy to find) in the correct rating.
you can wire a Sadowsky 18v without any issues (it's essentially an Aggie OBP-1) or use those two batteries in a 9V parallel configuration for near eternal battery life
all the best,
R

Oh, wow! That's funny, that it's your standard setup!
I had no idea... maybe I should just have you do it for me? I'll PM you.
