The aluminum 12-string

This one seems to have trouble finding a forever home. If I were made of money I would snatch it up and take off the octave strings just to see what an aluminum bass is like. I am an engineer by trade, so I am really interested in alternative materials and technologies. I have heard aluminum has its pros and cons, but I have no personal experience with it.
