78 Fender P bass - mocha player quality- Reverb

Post by crescenze »

Don't see too many mocha lefties. Not collector quality by any stretch, but could be a good player. From the pic the action looks great, low if that's you taste. Rosewood board too. Not as many of those on late 70's fenders.

Used to be mine. Belongs to Tom here. One of my biggest seller’s regrets ever.

Hi Matt
It has a lot of play wear on the finish especially on top.
Was that already like this when you owned it?
Looks for me that someone forced to let it look more vintage
And Do you remember how heavy it was ?

Nope, didn’t “force” anything. That’s all legit player wear. This bass got used a lot. I played it pretty much exclusively for a number of years. It was first on my stand on any recording session that a P bass was required as well as any live gigs. The bass weighs 9lbs or so. Typical for 70’s Fender’s. But it’s not a boat anchor.

One of my all time favorite finishes. That bass just looks so warm and inviting. :)
