Back in the 80s I didn't mind that part at all. Black, especially Precisions like this one, was the color that I associated with the British New Wave bassists I wanted to emulate.The other being us lefty having the Ford T syndrome: you can choose any color as long as it is black (though in all fairness this has changed a bit in the past years. But for my generation "18 in the 80s" this was certainly the case)...
