Curious if any of you guys have played a right handed Hofner Beatle style strung as a lefty.

I know they make true lefty models but I'm jonesing for the older "Cavern" style model. For whatever reason that style never shows up lefty in anything but $1500-$3000 German made. Too high for me.

There is a Cavern style in the lower prices but I've only seen it offered as a righty.

It looks like it would be easy to flip lefty except for the location of the control section. Wondering how much those controls would be in the way on a reversed righty.
Have to see if I can find one in a shop to try out, but any experience?

I think $1500 would be a good price for a lefty Cavern.

The only issue I'd see is one of the two biggies--it's not intonation in this case, but the controls under my arm would drive me nuts. I have a righty SG bass. I'll only use it for recording, so no biggy. I'd never play it for a gig or even for a long night of jamming because of the controls.
