Lefty Fretless Wanted

I wanted to start experimenting with playing fretless bass. I'm looking for a left-handed fretless bass and would prefer a four-string with a lined fretboard. Ideally, I like to put in no more than $1000 on this experiment.

There doesn't seem to be many good options out there. I'm hoping this network might have some leads or possibly an underused fretless that would be willing to part with.

Very often I've seen lined German made Warwick Corvette's 'flesses pop up in that price range. Haven't seen one in a little while though. It seems they come and go in waves. For a while, nothing. Then the floodgates open wide! :-)

A tech can take a fretted bass and easily turn it into a fretless with lines. My local tech removed the frets on my rosewood Fender JB neck, filled in the slots with light wood, and voilá, I have the best fretless I could have ever hoped for.

If your a fretted player and looking to try Fretless those lines are very helpful. You lose that cool look but like training wheels those line markers are a great way to get introduced to Fretless
