one of the reasons I posted this was because I'm under the impression white is a fairly rare color option on SR4's. Or am I ust blowin' smoke?

Wow, that's pretty. I think it is a rare color, too.

White is an option at EBMM for every bass model except for the Bongo. When they first introduced the Bongo you could order a white one. But after a while they dropped that color for them. I've only heard rumors but there seemed to be an issue with the neck paint as it's slightly textured and got funky lookin' after a while on the white ones.
A white Bongo is truly a rare bird, I've only seen two and they were right handed.

Hello guys,
I am the seller...or, I should say, was the seller since I decided not to sell it after all. Indeed it is a pretty cool and great sounding bass. The color reminds me of the one used by one of my favorite bass player: Bernard Edwards from Chic.
I'll get a P-bass later.

I checked out this bass. It's a nice SR4. It also played very well. If you ever see posts from Frenchy-Lefty, he is a nice guy.

Hey Frenchy-Lefty, did you buy this bass new, or do you know who you bought it from if bought used?
And welcome to the board, nice to have you here.

How our basses get around here... It appears that was Andrews old bass. He sold it to a board member from S.F.... Small world!

Hey Andrew,
This bass looks much better with a black pickguard, doesn't it?
Now, if anyone comes accross an antic-white P-bass, let me know.

I think you sold it to Geoff from San Francisco who sold it to me.

Andrew,
Yep, it's the Ice Queen.
I'll vouch for the seller, too - great guy. That bass is too good to not be someone's main player.
I'm kinda missing it myself. I never saw this on c'list. How much were/are you asking, Philip?

Yep. They move around, but yet "stay" on this board.
I've got Matt's fretless P neck and poorlefty's Trans Green Sterling fretless.

Well, I was working on a recording project for which I needed a P-bass with flatwound. In my ad, I was offering to trade the Stingray for a P-bass even though it is worth a little more. I did not get too many people interested locally (anyone in his right mind and owning a P-bass should have jumped on this deal!). That's when Gravebass contacted me and came to check it out. Told me everything about this site that I did not know - Thanks again by the way! - And told me where to find the lefty pots that I have been looking for forever. I had indicated a price a little higher than the street price ($1150) just in case someone was really in love with it and would want to buy it. Of course Gravebass knew it was a little higher than the usual street price. It is still a in very good condition. Neither Andrew, bbl or myself have played it that much.
Now, I agree with those 2 statements made by bbl when he sold the bass to me : 1. The sound is pretty bright, 2. it records like no other bass.
Remembering the statement #2, I decided not to sell it after all. I think, I'll be using it a little more. I've put some flats on my US Jazz Bass for my project which should sound close enough.

Yup, I met Frenchy-Lefty for the first time and after chatting a bit, I did not want to attempt a low ball offer with him. Good guy... Keeping it real here.... The bass is nice Phil and you should hang onto it unless a great P comes around for the trade offer. It has a very nice fast neck.. BUT, if you decide to move it later, gimme a buzz.

I just got another Spector 5 string I have been waiting near a year for so I am good on GAS for a while. Custom orders take forever when your a sad lefty.
