Rosser NR Surf Green 4 String
Posted: September 7th, 2020, 2:34 pm
This was a project I started around the beginning of the year and finished for fun.
I have not played it much but it came out pretty darn nice. Since it hasn't been
played much (only because I have not played much in general) I think it would be
best in the hands of someone who really does!
Here are the details:
- Lefty Rosser NR swamp ash body (Michael makes great bodies !!)
- Tummy contour added by Michael when he built the body
- MJT aged surf green nitro gloss finish
- Rosser 3-ply pickguard
- Chrome single coil pickups (created for luthier's guild)
- 500k pots wired vol-vol-tone with Gibson style knobs
- Dunlop Straploks
- Hipshot vintage style bridge
- All Parts maple jazz neck with rosewood fingerboard and tele headstock in aged satin finish
- Hipshot ultralight tuners
- Hipshot x-tender detuner
- GraphTech Tusq nut
This is about a medium weight bass. The body is on the heavier side but neck is on
the lighter side so it balances out in weight pretty well. It's very comfortable to play
actually. Medium to low action and a full level, crown and polish was performed on the
frets. The neck pocket has a thin shim on one side to help keep it really tight in the pocket.
This wasn't absolutely needed but I cut a maple shim and added it for further rigidity.
No case but will be well packed.
