These are great basses, it's a shame they do not hold their value however for $700 you are getting a great playing and sounding bass.

I've never understood why G&L doesn't have the same appeal or market value as Leo's previous two companies. It's still a company that Leo founded, and by that point he was confident that he improved upon his earlier designs. I think G&Ls are unquestionably the best basses he ever made.

Agree. I have never understood either. My explaination is that few prominent players are using G&L instruments. G&L should have pushed instrument endorsments from the get go.

Fender did not really need that but If you look at Musicman they had people like Louis Johnson, Tom Hamilton, Cliff Williams, Michael Anthony and a bunch of prominent players - sponsored or not - promoting the brand. What famous player used G&L in the 80's? I think they missed the marketing train.

You're absolutely right. G&L makes great instruments, but they don't know how to promote them. Artist sig models or endorsements would have helped. Of course I'm just guessing, but I'd say G&Ls A&R department needs a lot of work, as do their PR and marketing departments.
