Just one thing,i'm thinking of; i would see the arm contour less shy,i mean more ash to be discovered
What do you think about it ?

at this stage of construction, this could very easily be done. any suggestions on how much Ash you would like to see revealed?
all the best,

Here is what i would see,of course my route is straight, it should be a curve, but I think it would balance well with the color of the fingerboard
It is not easy to see the real proportion on a picture perhaps it is too much, perhaps not if it is curved

On an unrelated note that fingerboard goes really nice with the top on the body. Looks cool Rod.

I would say almost dead middle between where you already have it and where lefty68 has marked would be absolutely gorgeous.

as some here may know, I accepted an offer on our house this past week. with this comes the end to my bass building activities here in Seattle ... but since this is a holiday weekend, I get a couple last days to "get everything that requires stationary power tools done"
because of this, I am forced to abbreviate my process journaling. I will keep this updated to the extent that I can also get the real woodworking work completed by the end of this weekend.
here's an update as of lunch today: I have the threaded inserts installed in the neck, and have given the neck its first official attachemnt to the body (seen here)

I still need to detail the fretboard overhang, complete the revised cover plate, and then make the accompanying modifications to the body. I'm putting off the upper arm contour carving for now since I can accomplish this at any time with simple hand tools. This afternoon I'll be radiusing the fretboard and then thinning the headstock and neck shaft after I've installed the frets
sooo much still to do and so little time to get it all done
all the best,
R

as soon as I can find shop space to rent/borrow/barter/whatever I'll be able to get back to working this one. the wife isn't too thrilled about losing kitchen counter space when I want to work on this, and I'm not wanting to get any kind of contamination on the wood that would impair it taking a finish well
the hunt for a place to make dust continues ...

I have a follow-up meeting with Pat this week. I have my fingers crossed that this will work out - even if it's only enough shop access to get this specific bass finished
all the best,

discouragement on finding shop space, that's all I can report at the moment
still, I may have discovered a solution last week ... more later when it's appropriate to share

I snagged this body from my storage unit when I was there last week because I realized that in all the chaos of moving out of my former house/shop, I never posted an image with the pickup routes added.
sorry for the drastic color shift - I need to get my camera looked at after it took a fall
I may also have some good news to post about the neck progress here in mid-October ... fingers crossed
all the best,
R
