Just a big hello to everyone, looking foward to knowledge about all Lefty Bass info. Should have come in here first to ask some questions before buying a left fretless bass from China.......the trouble that it would have saved me. Will probably do a review soon if i don't get satisfaction from pacer guitars.
Cheers

Hi, just checking in. Glad to have found this place!
I've been playing ~27 years off & on(I severed my right wrist in 2000 and sold almost all my gear. It's taken me up until last year to finally get my chops back!). I'm an upside-down lefty(my basses are strung right-handed) and I (unfortunately) only play short-scale basses due to my injury. The positive side of it is that it prevents me from buying random basses on a whim - there just aren't many SS-lefties, particularly 5-strings!

hello everyone!
my name is derek. i live in hamilton, ontario canada.
i have an ashton bass that i bought when i lived in australia.
before that i never had anything better than a crappy right handed bass strung left.
so i am really glad to find this forum!
i always dreamed of getting a lefty philip kubicki factor bass but i found out a long
time ago they never made any left handed models of any bass they ever made.

at least it was phil kubicki that told me that they didn't exist. that was small consolation!
it was totally due to the costs of making all the parts in reverse and they just didn't
see the demand. that's the story of my lefty life! LOL
now i'd really like to lay my hands on an aria pro II sb-1000! at least i know they made
a few of those in LH as i've seen them on the net.

welcome figital. Good luck with your quest. I believe that bass isn't that rare, no doubt it'll turn up eventually.
You should make a point of seeing jayceeofbass's band next time your in Toronto

Hey guys! I see no one has posted here since last october so not sure if anyone will actually read this

But anyways here it is!
My name is Andy and I'm from Stirling, Scotland 34 year young, a freshly converted bassist

Been playing guitar since I was 8 also Trumpet sine I was 14.
Played in some Blues and Reggae bands.
Privately I'm a web developer also doing some photography.
As I've mentioned before I'm in the process of conversion to bass (if you can say so). Not had much luck finding people to play with.
Either the wan't to play some sort of emo stuff that I just don't get or some other hipster thingies hahaha (nothing against any genre of music! Simply not my cup of tea).
Than if I've managed to find people to play with they either to busy to commit to rehearsals, don't have money for gear or all of them play guitar!
So! I've always heard from people that I'm playing really groove riffs and I should switch to bass, so I thought that this could actually work out.
At the moment I'm trying to buy a bass but here in UK there is very poor availability for left handed gear

and it's extortion! very expensive.
Looking for advise from all of you mature players! Mainly on basses, amps, pick ups etc.
Sorry that was pretty long,,,, I know
Instruments in my collection:
- Fender Telecaster MIM
- Ibanez RG370l
- Yamaha YTR-8345G Trumpet
- Fender Blues Junior 15W
Anyways, that's all from me!
Cheers Andy

Welcome, Andy! Be sure to check out the other forums, particularly "Southpaw spotted" and "For Sale," (for lefties) and even "Amps, Effect, Parts..." (if you need an amp too) in the UK or at least on the Continent. The former two forums are very, very active (daily, sometimes hourly posts). Good luck in your search for gear - don't give up!

Hello fellow southpaws, I'm new here and hope to learn as much as possible from other fellow lefties. I posted a new thread in the general section before I saw this one, I apologize to the moderators in advance.
I'm a tube amp and effects fan and am always looking for lefty gear and advice.

Well, Suppose I better get this done, since it's expected;
Hello everyone. Been a lurker here off and on now for a couple of years, and the profile page says I've been a member for a while now

, but never posted anything. Just didn't have much to say, I guess. Anyway;
I have a bunch of basses (but no
good pictures); working on that, though. Most of my stuff is old/weird, but fun to play. All 4-stringers, and except for the Alembic, all passive. Like to tinker with stuff, and do most of my own work on everything.
That's it, I guess.

Welcome! It's been fun reading your posts since you officially joined.
This is a great group.
An expensive group. (Can you say
enabler?)
But nonetheless a great group.
Welcome to the community!

Hi everyone,
I'm Julian from Stuttgart/Germany and 33 years old.
I got my first bass more than 15 years and since then didn't stop to play in various bands (from Bigbands to R'n'B and rock bands).
My main instrument today is a 69-70ies Jazzbass played through an SWR Redhead. I also use an '82 Tokai Jazz and a Yamaha TRB.
Currently i'm looking for a nice Precision to enhance my collection ...
I'm travelling a lot and would like to meet fellow lefty bassists all over the planet.
Looking forward to participate in this forum!
