I'm starting to dislike you
The online home for southpaw bassists.

Great news for somebody who does manage to have some money right now, but I'm starting to feel a little desperate myself.gravesbass wrote:People are getting desperate "especially" the stores.
I know, I was just kiddinggravesbass wrote:If you only knew what I had to do to restore this bass... you would respect me.Pain in my ass. It's a good bass but I pressed the button from it listed as "Pristine", not fixer upper.
So my dream of finding a used lefty JO5 is resting on ONE bass?????gravesbass wrote:Some updated news.... to Andrew and bbl..... there are only 6 Joe Osborn basses made in Left Handed as of last week. 4 of them are JO4's and 2 are JO5's. I have the only one that was built with block inlays and binding and was completed June 2007. That answers the Lakland JO story. Not 3 or 4 but 6 total.
Now "WHO" owns the other 3 ???????
Someone ought to give them a call. In their lefty section, they list one 3TS as sold. In their USA, JO section, they list 2 3ts's, one of which is sold.andrew wrote:I sold my JO to a fella in the UK. Chuck has one. I believe Bass Central has one in stock.
I had one too... A 4-string sunburst... Sold it a few months ago.AzWhoFan wrote:andrew wrote:I sold my JO to a fella in the UK. Chuck has one. I believe Bass Central has one in stock.
Whoa! Only 4 JO4's, and through this site, we know a little something about all of them? I wonder if they're all sunburst/tort.gravesbass wrote:Some updated news.... to Andrew and bbl..... there are only 6 Joe Osborn basses made in Left Handed as of last week. 4 of them are JO4's and 2 are JO5's. I just put a semi-joking ad on bassgear.com....looking for a lefty JO5! I'll keep you posted as the e-mails roll in!!gravesbass wrote:Some updated news.... to Andrew and bbl..... there are only 6 Joe Osborn basses made in Left Handed as of last week. 4 of them are JO4's and 2 are JO5's. Definitely feel your pain. Paid $2,260 for my 55-94 off eBay listing that said "mint"....it wasn't even close! That hurt but it's a great bass now. I'm going to keep it 'til they plant me.gravesbass wrote:...It's a good bass but I pressed the button from it listed as "Pristine", not fixer upper. It is not prisine but definitely worthy now after all the work I did...
You're absolutely right. The DJ5 is only available as a Korean-made Skyline. There are no lefthanded Skylines whatsoever, only some US-made Laklands.gravesbass wrote:Het tallboybass,
I also see a post for a Darryl Jones 4 or 5. I assume it might be someone else from this board. I don't think they ever made a DJ5 model in left handed... or did they?? Does anyone here have a lefty DJ4? Pics?
Wow, never knew that...I wonder why?Jeroen wrote:The DJ5 is only available as a Korean-made Skyline.
What?!? You mean you're not going to be buried with all your basses like the rest of us?tallboybass wrote:gravesbass wrote:Have you guys thought about what will happen to your prized basses when you're gone? It's not a big deal for righties (or is it?) but I'd like to think someone might be rockin' my Lakie after I'm gone. (sorry for the downer)
