PJ, the brand is KILLER; the model is KB-SIMMONY. They're made in Japan. I've seen them a few times on Japanese guitar sites. Ishibashimusic had this one up for sale on Ebay:

who notices those things anyway. It's the funny looking bathing suit shorts your wearing that would make someone laugh.
but, those were the days
It's because whenever I show pictures from the 80's that's what I get - nice socks, dude.
Or shorts...
OK, seeing as how we're embarrassing ourselves with old photos, here's the only righty bass I owned, that I had flipped by the local guitar tech back when I lived in Redding, Ca. I had a '74 P-Bass too, but my Dad gave this to me along with a MusicMan 4-channel head, so I could start my "music career"!
A Japanese Les Paul copy from the '70's.... wouldn't mind still having it!
oh now this is becoming a hot topic eh?
I wish I still had the hundreds of pics from the 80's but thanks to a fire in the house next door so many years ago, and smoke and water damage I had to throw it all away - 20 years of "old" pictures gone before the internet and photobucket.
here's me playing my Dean flying-v flipped at a gig in 2009:
and one of me desperately trying to play a friend Pete's Ric flipped circa 1985 so I wouldn't have to use my POS SG copy.
.
Soon after I switched from guitar to bass, I walked into a pawn shop that had a lefty Hondo 830, and I convinced the owner to trade me straight up for mt righty Hondo 830, that I played upside-down. That was right after my first gig, so the only pic I have of me and a flipped bass is this one my band took to promote that first gig.
