This little Acoustic Mini is badass! Get like 6 of them and run them across at a gig. That would look so cool and freak people out.

Nice mini bedroom rig. Half the price of the Ampeg is not too shabby.

It sounds like a great value for a practice amp! The Ampeg guys are definitely resting on their laurels...

If you plug a 100 W 4 ohms into your 4ohms Ampeg 4x10, you will certainly hear the sound but it will probably sound small and uninteresting (not if you plug a 100W tube head though!). I was recently shopping for a 4x10 4 ohms to use with my Ampeg Portabass 250 which runs 250 W @ 4 ohms. I tried quite a few cabs but it seemed that most 4x10 demanded more "juice" especially the ones with traditional magnets like the Ampeg HLF which I tried too. It sounded pretty "boomy". In general, Neodymes cabs seem to run better with smaller heads. I settled for an Avatar Neodyme B410. It works great.

I had the Orange crush 35. It was ok. Definitely not enough for a gig of any kind however.

I've been listening to the new Orange Crush Pix 50 at my local store, and it sounds great (for a practice amp). I A/B'd it with the Ampeg B112, and to my ears it sounded way better, and was cheaper. I plan to pick one up soon-ish, so I'll be sure to give a review if I do so. It's pretty basic in terms of options, but I loved the warm sound coming out of it - it sounded better than my GK backline 112, and was as loud if not louder.

Hi Matt,

It's been a few months now -can you give your fellow lefties an update on your Acoustic 260 stack, please? I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on a new amp, so I'd love to hear how it's held up, if you played any practices with it, etc...

Cheers!

I only use it in my bass room at home. It still sounds great, not loud and like with the Ampeg Micro, this thing is not gig worthy, but a GREAT practice amp.
