One of my bands on national radio

Post by Jeroen »

My band The Bullfight (pop noir, somewhere inbetween Nick Cave and Tindersticks) had a gig on national radio last week. We were filmed too, for internet broadcasting purposes. Enjoy:

We usually play live with an electric guitar and a keyboardist who plays the Hammond organ, but our keyboardist left the band a few months ago so we stripped our songs down a little bit. Our guitarist usually changes from guitar to piano and back during gigs but this time we kept things simple. Challenging at times, but I think it worked out pretty well :)

That was great! Love the dark vibe - I love all things Nick Cave, but I also heard some middle-period Serge Gainsbourg in there too.

Question: Does your bass weigh a lot? Fenders from that era are usually so heavy....

I have a 74 Jazz myself. Pretty heavy but it rules. Had a 73 that was very light though.

Yes, it's fairly heavy. It's no original 1970s USA Fender Jazz though, it's a 2004 MIJ '75 reissue, the JB75-US :)

Great job! Seems to me the cameraman or editor is a musician, judging by the amount of time your fingers got air time as oppsed to your faces.

Coulda fooled me on the bass as well!
