69 Tele Bass - Ebay

Post by crescenze »

I've only seen about 5 of these 1st generation Tele basses come up in the last 20 years or so. Unfortunately this one has been flipped and played by a righty. You can see the extra strap button hole in the pics. Harder to see is it has an arm contour added below the control side for right handed comfort. The seller doesn't mention that in the description, and you really have to look hard to see it in picture #9. There's a slight angle you can see bottom edge to the left of the jack plate. Also that picture shows the non original jack plate.

Wow, fully agree first look is stunning, looking at the details and pictures some doubts come up if this is really all original.
Also strange that obvious changes are not mentioned in the advert

Wow is right!! Not a bad price and a really good weight.
I actually like the look with the pickguard off.

Modifying a left-handed instrument for right-handed use should be a criminal offense.

I'm writing my state assemblyperson.

Less serious offenses, such as a strap button hole in the lower bout, could be a monetary fine only. But what this right-hander did, sanding part of the body off, should be punishable by a mandatory prison sentence.
