hello

Post by pepiot »

I am a left handed(obviously) bassman ,57 years old, i played in several bands for more than 30 years in my country(france) and now i play jam sessions from time to time.
I love jeff beck, led zep, james brown and candy dulffer or the brecker brothers and a lot of things like that.
I own several basses and a few left 6 strings guitars
and some are enought rare(2 old guilds, 1 aria sb 900) a jb and a sting ray, 1 bass collection etc...
concerning amps i love gk and use a 700 rb2 and a 210 néo cab, and i am very happy with that.

Welcome! Would love to see some pix of your gear when you get a chance. Are your Guilds guitars or basses? I've never met a Guild instrument I didn't like. :)

here it is , my first guild bass was a right handed(about1970), cause it did not exist in left, and i played it left(i tried it with strings as left or right handed at this time).
I bought the second (b302) in 1973

A lefty Guild B302! Wow.

Now that is a sweet bass. One of my all-time favorite basses despite their tendency to neck dive. I just love the look, feel, and deep tone they put out. I've only seen about 3 lefties in my lifetime. (I've got a heavily butchered one).

If you ever get tired of it, let me know. ;)

You are lucky as i did'nt saw another one for the last 30 years.
Mine has no problems with the neck and i suppose that its to late to apear now ;)
Its a very efficient bass for rock with an enormous sound, but for jazzy music i will chose my sting ray or jb first.
Except that its a very playable instrument, with a very easy neck not far from a precision fender for the feeling.

Pepiot,

Welcome to LeftyBassist.com

Everyone loves those Guilds...I would love to try them indeed...actually I'll be in France in December so...just kiddin'

Petite precision: Je crois que ce qu'il entendait par "Neck Dive" n'est pas un probleme avec le manche mais la tendance d'un manche a tomber en avant a cause de sa lourdeur.

Sorry I was translating "the neck dive" expression for my countryman.

Bienvenue!

Nice basses. And I too like Candy. I'd recommend anybody who hasn't to check her out. Great saxophonist.

ok, as i lost a lot of my english i made confusion with neck dive, now its ok, its true that this bass has this tendancy but just a little, far less than my other guild fot instance.
If i am in Paris in December, no problems, but i travel a lot with my job and i cannot be sure of where i will be at this time just now.
Concerning the purshase date it was 77 and not 73 sorry for the mistake.
