Hi, not sure what kinds there are but I was thinking a Fender American Jazz Bass with an added low B.

If you want a real Fender, you'll need to approach the Custom Shop and expect a hefty price tag. The only Fender 5-string available left handed is the Fender Japan Jazz Bass V.

Not American made, but I picked up a used Sire V7 MM, ash body. After a few months, I am still very happy with the quality, the tone, the ergonomics (other than too many knobs), etc. Nothing to do with MIA, but still a really good option.

Yeah I wouldn’t limit the search to just american made. You’ll be disappointed. Fender doesn’t do lefties but there’s Sadowsky and other boutique builders. Also you could do a Warmoth build.
Those Sire basses do have a great reputation and price.

I believe you can still option order them: http://glguitars.com/product/jb-5/

But the last one on G&L's Instagram was last May (before the re-org): https://www.instagram.com/p/BikVLSaBtgo/

Here's one made in 2017 and flipped in 2018:

A quick email to a G&L dealer would answer that for sure, though.

Thanks all. Probably will look for a Japan made one if US made ones do not exist.

I don't recall ever seeing Japanese 5 string Fenders either. Unless you really NEED Fender on the logo, the Sire above mentioned will deliver the goods. I play a Warmoth 5 string Jazz Deluxe with an ash body. I like it so much that it is the only reason I play a 5 string.
