Looks like this previously belonged to a lefty who played with the low E at the bottom, looking at the nut. Maybe someone here? Carmine's old ATK?

I've heard the nut on most of these came like that from factory for whatever reason, the one I had also had a nut just like that but who knows? :?: :)

All three ATK's I owned are Japanese and had a lefty nut.

I've owned two 4-strings; 1986 era - most likely Chinese built (the 1st was a righty, the 2nd a lefty); both had nuts appropriate for the bass, and two 5-strings - a 2013 right hander, and my Japanese 1986... both with appropriate nuts. In other words, all of the ATK's I've owned (still have the 5-strings) had nuts that were appropriate for their "hand" designation... This is the first time I've ever seen a universal nut on "any" Ibanez model. Hard to imagine this ATK shipped with that nut from the factory...

IIRC I'm pretty sure that is one of the MIK ATK's I used to have... it was New Old Stock, nice bass, beautiful grain and yep that was the original nut from the factory, I never touched it. Played fine strung either way.

I bought a brand new lefty ATK in the mid-90s that had a nut just like this one.
