If that price isn't high it's insane.

His price is undoubtedly based upon what he probably had to go through to get it. I had to replace the truss rod cover on a Ric that I used to own. It was insane! You have to go through Rickenbacker, you have to send pics of almost every detail of the bass (along with pics of serial numbers) you have to e mail them directly along with an explanation of why you want the part replaced (along with pics of it) then once it's ok'd, Rickenbacker will reply with shipping info. Once they receive the part, it can take (at least for me it did) 3 months to get it. And God forbid if you call to check on the status of it. I understand they are protecting themselves from unscrupulous manufacturers that want to build counterfeit Rics, but it was almost not worth getting the part replaced.

Careful on this one, I have an 80 Ric and it would not fit my bass. Not sure when they changed but my older bass has the upsidedown Ric nameplate, same for the triangle fret markers. If you see my bass below the truss rod cover points the other way.

Next if you look at the sellers other items for sale, he has several right handed nameplates in different options, so somehow he has an in on nameplates.
