Opinions please: why is it that I can buy a brand new Roscoe for about the same money as this VERY simple Lakland. Having 2 Roscoes, it seems to me that this bass is overpriced by at least $1000, maybe more.

Thoughts?

OK, hmmmm... I just checked out the Lakland web site, and listened to the sound samples of this bass. Holy s**t  ! That sounds incredibly fat, warm, punchy, and even. I also get the concept now: an accurate reproduction of a vintage Precision.

The blocks and binding are a pretty expensive upgrade on a Lakland too, you'd be looking at a cheaper bass without them.

$800 UPCHARGE FOR BLOCKS AND BINDINGS.... Whoops, sorry for yelling.

My Lakland JO5 I bought used on the bay had this config and confirmed from Lakland the upgrade charge... and wait! It's a GREAT looking upgrade. My bass pics are up on leftybassist somewhere here.

Bottom of the page for pic. The block inlays and binding is worth the upgrade... Trust me.

here's a Non Blocked/bound one that has been sitting for 2 years (maybe longer) in NJ. Asking a lot less...

I'm about a 15 minute drive from this store. If anyone's interested in having me check this Glaub out, let me know.
