Post by kmf »

Just a heads up. Rondo has a few of their lefties on sale. Some under $100.

Thanks for the heads up, though. I put the righty version of the uke on my holiday wish list (from another site), figuring I would change the nut and saddle and deal with the electronics on the wrong side. I now know there's a lefty version for the same price!!!

One of our forum members, Matt, bought one of the first Kala U-basses back when they first became available. Turns out they were right handers flipped for lefties... bracing was all wrong for a lefty, so he returned it. Kalas cost $400-500 these days, so these Hadean basses are a deal at $149.95. Can't speak for the Hadean, but if it comes close to the Kala in sound and fun, it's worth the price!

I have one of the Hadean basses from Rondo. I'd say it's worth the price. It plays almost in tune and it sound quite good through an amp.

A few more models added to the lefty Rondo sale. I'm thinking hard about snagging this one: http://www.rondomusic.com/ursa2mnct3tsashlh.html

Anyone here have any experience with this model? $125 seems like a solid deal even if you need to mod it a bit.

Cheers!

A couple of years ago, I bought one of these, in a 5-string model, for $100! Solidly built, the only issue I found was the bridge was a bit too high, and the pickups had a tendency to clip if I hit the strings too hard. Never got around to fixing the issues, as I gave it to a fellow bass buddy who's left-handed daughter expressed an interest in learning bass. Can't go wrong with a $100 bass...
