Lefthanded maple Jazz neck ordering

Post by AHNC »

I have been trying to order a maple/maple Jazz USA neck from Fender. Epic fail and I was wondering if anyone has had any success with this?

The only way you're gonna get a lefty maple/maple neck is if it's attached to a mod shop or custom shop bass. They don't offer maple/maple replacements.

I am convinced that Fender and Gibson are part of a grand plan to piss of every left handed bass player on the planet. I am going to drive up to the Fender office tomorrow and ask WTF?

Well as much as it sucks, the grand plan is to make money, and there just aren't enough of us.

Its from their pawnshop series. Why they would do a left handed maple board neck for this right handed bass but also not do it for an actual lefty bass is pretty ridiculous to me.

I was always curious about flipping one of these but the cost a lot for the risk.
Has anyone tried that?

Yeah I think I kinda dig the Warmoth Roasted Maple neck. So I did ask Fender about how I would replace a Maple neck on an older JBass (I have a few) and they said they would get back to me. The fender people were really nice and seemed to actually care. I just asked the simple question " I can order a maple neck with a rosewood board how hard would it be to just not put the rosewood on?". I tried to explain that I prefer the maple only for my live sound for its brighter tone and the rosewood for recording for its warmer sound.

AzWhoFan I saw your message this morning. Next Time dude.

Hopefully Fender gets back to you with a maple fingerboard option.
