Fender "American Design Experience" Making Changes
Fender "American Design Experience" Making Changes
Just got this email...
Not sure what it'll mean for lefties, but hopefully it'll be good news...
American Design Experience as it is right now can be found here: http://www2.fender.com/american-design/

If Fender offers 5 string lefties..... there might be an interest here. Although I am trying to get G&L to produce the lefty JB-5's at the moment.....

Haha! I know what you mean. Good luck! They don't even make lefty JB-4s. Otherwise I would already have one!gravesbass wrote:I am trying to get G&L to produce the lefty JB-5's at the moment.....

I got the e-mail as well. I think if you went into the site and saved a design idea at some point they've sent you this e-mail. I played around with it well over year ago.
Hopefully it means additional options for lefties. Like how about a '51 P bass, for crying out loud!

FADE doesn't even do righty versions of either of those, so I seriously doubt you'll see them for lefty... I agree, though. The more options the better.pjmuck wrote:Hopefully it means additional options for lefties. Like how about a '51 P bass, for crying out loud!
The options I would like to see are more colors, especially classic nitro finishes. Would love to see surf or seafoam green, fiesta red or shoreline gold.
Being able to get black blocks would be sweet... they only offer pearl now.
A P/J option would also be very cool... and it would be very cool to have 70's pickup spacing as an option. Now that I've been able to spend a lot of time with both, I totally prefer 60's spacing, but having that option would be very cool.

Re: Fender "American Design Experience" Making Changes
What other maker tells you they're discontinuing some options while not telling you specifically which options they're discontinuing, just to get you to commit?
And of course they're going to offer new options, so what is now your favorite ADE design -- the one they're trying to scare you into buying now because it might be unavailable come June 1 -- may no longer be your favorite ADE design after the new options become available.
A company that does this ain't getting my money. I'd feel like a fool if I gave it to them.

Well, so far as I can tell, nothing has changed.

I contacted Fender yesterday... they jumped the gun.
New interface had bugs and they'll be launching soon.

Re: Fender "American Design Experience" Making Changes
They launched the new website today. Ps and Js, as expected. So far, the only changes I see are a couple of new color options (Seafood Green) and a few less options in tuners, bridges, no neck plate engraving, etc. (I don't even see an option for ash, only alder). Overall, not impressed, and higher pricing too.

Yep they made it even worse for everyone.
