Any 4 banger to spare? P bass, j bass, semi-hollow?

Post by virtaGo »

I've got some gigs coming up, and an odd turn of events has left me bassless. Not quite an emergency yet, but for my own sanity, I need a 4 banger ASAP.

I'm looking to make an investment on a workhorse. Just needs to be in sound playing condition, working truss rod. Pref. passive electronics, but open to any and all kinds. Parts bass, p bass, j bass, does not have to be mint. Anything laying around that you're tired of looking at?

Thanks,
Derek

Take a look at this. Semi hollow. It's mine, brand new.

You bet. It's a killer bass, I just simply don't need this one. Let me know if you have any questions or interest! 8-)

I have an Olympic White Sire V7 I am looking to sell. They have gotten pretty good reviews.

I have two, actually. Take your pick: Ash/Maple or Alder/Rosewood.

I'm jealous :)

If you want a real beater, I've got a Squier PJ that feels and plays great, but looks like Faces of Meth--Guitar Edition, complete with dice for knobs.

If you're ever in the Boston area, though, Paulo's got a bunch of guitars up for sale from cheap to dear.

Oh man, you guys are making this difficult. Decisions, decisions.

Tim, don't be jealous. I was born in Boston and I love it. Might actually going back this summer. I do go visit every now and again so perhaps I will reach out.

Again, thanks for the responses, I really appreciate it. I will have to do some research and careful consideration the next few days.

Thank you for all the help everyone. I finally decided to spec out a j bass from scratch using parts I have on hand, Warmoth, and CME. Ordered neck and body without finish because I'm going to use dark stain or oil. Shouldn't take too long, and hopefully I will have some pics to share in the not too distant future.

In the meantime, guess I will practice guitar...with an OC-2.
