You might have to sell your house to get something like that.

Not as much as Macca's 58 Les Paul ...tallboybass wrote:That's it!!! How much?
For some reason I never understood basses don't sell for as much as guitars...
I'll bet it would fetch between 50 and 75K

Not a bass, but did anybody see the (I'm reciting this from memory so bear with me) 1962 Lefty Strat that someone had on Antiques Roadshow a couple of weeks ago?
I think they said it was worth around $48K. Dern.
Edit: quick google search confirms my memory was correct:

The earliest lefty bass I've seen was a 1938 German upright (I forget what brand) that was supposedly not a righty conversion.

I shoulda said 'bass guitar'. Really interested in the earliest lefty Precision....not that the '38 upright isn't interesting though.pjmuck wrote:The earliest lefty bass I've seen was a 1938 German upright (I forget what brand) that was supposedly not a righty conversion.

Yep, I remember that one. Norm's Guitars was selling it and asking $6000 at the time. It was a sunburst with a slab board neck.danomite64 wrote:I saw a '59 Precision on ebay a few years ago.
